The trip to the Hermitage was a pleasant experience. Some of the finest European and Modern art were present on display at the museum. The food in the restaurant of the museum was also very delicious. After the trip to the Hermitage we headed for another famous landmark and popular attraction of the city known by the name of Van Gogh Museum. As the name suggests the museum is dedicated to the life and works of the famous painter Vincent Van Gogh.
It has the largest collection of art which belongs to the most famous artist of all time Van Gogh. The museum is said to be among the 25 most popular museums of the world and is visited by more than 1.5 million tourists every year. The collection of Van Gogh inside the museum consists of his paintings, letters, drawings and some other art of his contemporaries.
There is a section inside the museum known by the name of Permanent collection. It is the most interesting part of the whole museum. This section contains more than 200 paintings and 500 drawings of the great artist. His work is chronologically organised by the museum into five periods which resembles his life and work. Recently museum also made part of the collection available for everyone on the internet.
All the art of Vincent Van Gogh available inside the museum needs to be looked upon and be seen from a different perspective by the viewers. There are many people who visit this museum on an everyday basis. The museum is open until 10 PM for the public on the Fridays while other days it is open until 7 PM. The entry fees for the adults are 17 Euro while admission of children up to 17 years is free.
It is another of the great museum of not only the country of Holland but of whole Europe. The museum is one of the most crowded museums on a regular day. The administration and maintenance of this museum is very nicely done. After this trip to Van Gogh museum we headed for yet another famous museum of the city known as the Dutch Railways museum.
